Default Site loading problem - 11-23-2004 , 05:40 PM

Hello and HELP!

Problem site: http://www.integrated-ideas.com/dev/default.htm

The problem I am having with this site is that there is a terribly obnoxious
flash on the screen when each page loads. I am viewing it in IE 6.0 and
using Win XP Pro. The client has tested it on a number of computers and
gets the same result.

Of all the many sites I have done, I have never encountered this sort of
weird behavior. I would expect that as you click on each tab for the first
time, there might be some small delay in the loading of new graphics, but
then second time around it should be seamless. But this one seems to do it
even after all the pages have been loaded.

The weird thing though is that if I view this site first
(http://www.first-impressions.com) and then go back to the problem site, it
will work the way I want it to.

Can anybody please provide any insight into why this is happening?

Thank you in advance,

Lynn

Lynn,
couple of things really

all pages are white, therefore you are re-drawing the page each time, no
matter that the images are from the cache
you'll notice the flash goes from top-left to bottom-right - that's how
screens redraw themselves (analogue that is)
you could try taking the code for the background image out of the css and
into the <body> tag itself
you could also try moving the nav (and table content) layer after the 2nd
table
