I like the clean look. Navigation is simple and obvious. Logo stands out well
and blurb explains what you do clearly. All good traits.

The page loading/drawing is slow. My DSL runs at 1.2mbps and the page draws
itself in stages, even the blank white vertical edges take a while to display.
I see you use the acronym I.T - shouldn't it be I.T. ?

I also like the design and the very clean look. Well done -- looks terrific
and very professional.

I also find the pages take way too long to load (I am on a fast DSL line).

Have you considered changing your navigation system to CSS rollovers? That
would get rid of most of your scripts. Also, using your style sheet to
specify your fonts will also help.

There is excellent CSS information at Macromedia's web site. In addtion,
take a look at the CSS rollovers and various CSS tutorials at
http://www.projectseven.com

There are many sites available to help you with CSS. The big advantage to
learning basic CSS is it helps you make much faster and leaner web sites
that load more quickly and your sites will be easier to maintain and revise
in the future.

Also,

spelling in meta tags (spaecialising)

What no postal address! This always looks iffy

A link displays help (AT) pcquik (DOT) co.uk but goes to clients (AT) pcquick (DOT) co.uk

Hi,

Thanks for your valued comments.

I didn't realise the page was that heavy and takes long to load..it's only
41k- as per DW4.

I created the interface in FW4 and sliced the white area to enable me to
enter the HTML in DW.

I have used CSS for the main body text and linked to it a style sheet <link
rel="stylesheet" href="css/body.css" type="text/css">, but I suppose i
should have used CSS for the navbar too considering the text format.

It's ironic that such a slow page would be on a domain called pcquik!

Size of all images: 28.176 kB
Size of HTML-source: 14.052 kB
Size of whole page: 42.228 kB

It's not the weight of the page that's the problem. It must be the server,
athough a tracert doesn't reveal any slowness there....

Hi Murray,

Thanks for your assistance.

I have cleared out my browser cache and checked the site again. It takes
about 10 seconds to load!

What do you think I should do? Change host?

Switch:

10 seconds is bang on if you are coming in at 56k. I'd just tough it out.
I saw nothing on that page to worry about.

Switch -
I have a client right now who had a site built by someone else, and it runs
really slowly. I analysed the site and found a few things to correct, but the
real problem was her server. By copying her entire site to my server and testing
it there, the perfomance increased by about 40%. She was on Interland, and I've
heard they overload their servers (or at least they did a year or so ago).
You may consider testing your site elsewhere.
