site check and layer/table problem

www.petigreegifts.com Ive been told that this problem is caused by using
layers and not tables. The images in the top heading (in the green) were
inserted straight into the page with no layers or tables so why did they shift
too? How can i fix it and is there a way to fix it without re-doing all the
pages?

Hi John,
I'm not an expert on layers, or tables...or even css (okokok, i'm one of
those jack of all trades kinda people!)...but I can tell you what works for
me and then you can choose the right fix for your problem.
First, the sites look very attractive, great uses of color! I never use
layers anymore specifically because of the "movement" issues with them.
Directly inserting gifs into html won't stop movement either when you're
talking browser sizes.
There are two fixes you can use (prolly many more, but I use these and they
work) that won't involve too much altering of your template.
1. Edit the template and add cells for each gif you're going to use...make
the regions editable in the area where you will use diff pics on each page
of the site. Since your background color is solid green in the head section
but with rounded corners you'll need to use those gifs as background in
those cells....amd other cells in the same manner.
2. Use a css sheet in addition to the template in order to set the entire
background and each cell with the properties you desire. This makes is
simple to update the entire site whenever you want to make changes.
Since you want an easy fix, i'd prolly go with option #1.
