SO I am wondering, what sort of dark secret voodoo magic is required to convince the Results Panel to cough up the full path to the files it lists in Search results? It does this for the Link Checker results in the same panel. But in Search results, i get one subfolder and the filename, no matter what. Most annoying! After locating a folder full of stuff I should have cloaked, or some other folder of stuff I should investigate, I have to go outside Dreamweaver and use Windows file search *shudder* to actually locate the folder. Grr! I've seen this mentioned in one other forum entry, but with no answer. No joy with tech notes, etc., or even a Google search. Surely SOMEONE else is annoyed by this, and has found a solution? :confused; --G |

I am talking about the Find/Replace search..and i do NOT get full path, just the closest subfolder plus the filename. (i know how to find the path to the Web root. Der. :-) So, for example, if I do a search that finds a hit in the file <web root>/blah/foo/wibble/eep/index.html, what I will see in the Results Panel list is: eep/index.html <matched text snippet As you can see, this makes it very difficult to figure out where the "eep" subfolder is located - no idea where, or how deep, it is within my site. If I had built the site myself, I could probably guess...but I inherited a massive Web site, containing around 37 sub-applications and thousands of pages, and I haven't had much time to spend with it yet, so 9 times out of ten i'm clueless where a particular subfolder lives, unless it is off of the web root. So what I'm wondering is...why is it you see the full path down to the web root, and I don't? that's most odd. I have the latest update, and I have done nothing wierd to my configuration - just installed it, added a site, and started using it. Did you bribe yours with something? Beer? Chocolate? Long walks in the park? --G |
