Default Show Pop-Up Menu Behavior - 07-06-2004 , 11:26 AM

I have done a lot of reading about trying to implement drop down menus in my
site. Everyone talks about doing PVII tutorials and downloading other
extensions, etc. I have also heard people talking about Javascripts that do
this.

Dreamweaver MX comes with a behavior called Show Pop-Up Menu that appears to
create Drop Down Menus however whenever I try to go this route I get an error
message saying, "Unable to restore selection after making edits in
"applybehavior". Try making edits in smaller steps and don't delete the
selected object. The action will not be added to your document."

I don't understand this message...all I am doing is trying to apply this
function to a graphic that will function as a button. This also comes up if I
try to connect it to text.

Please help.

Shawn

Lets see your code and detail what script you are using and where
from.

Cheers,
Tom

Shawn:

Just don't do it.

Why are you not using the PVII methods?

Doesn't the built-in function work in Dreamweaver? Why do I need other
extensions to do the same thing that Dreamweaver appears to be able to do?
Please explain why my Show Pop-up Menu Behavior is not working. Doesn't this
function create drop downs? Please advise.

You're welcome. I hope I have saved you a ton of trouble. I wish
Macromedia had never included this dead-end feature....

voxmaris1check out opencube.com,

Just put a text link to your sitemap with a link to every other page on your
homepage to fix the serch engine problem.
The menu isn't that large at all and it works fawlessly on every browser since
opencube gets the correct javascript for the browser. Not to mention when you
want to update the whole websites dropdowns you just upload a new javascript
file and it updates every page... don't believe everything you read.

Opencube is a terrible solution. And you're right. Don't believe everything
you read.
