Default Share Tag Libraries? - 12-01-2003 , 11:14 AM

Is there anyway for me to export a tag library that I have built in DW? Or, even better, from a network share?

I haven't seen a way to directly export a tag library, and haven't done
thie myself, but you can build an extension so that you can share your's
with others.

The file's you'll be looking for will be in
{DW folder}/Configuration/TagLibraries/

To find where this foled is located:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/dr.../multiuser.htm

If you've defined a new tag library, then there should be a folder for
the tags tha you've created. Also, TagLibraries.vtm in the TagLibraries
folder will contain info on the tags that you've created, make note of
the entries here as you'll need them for the MXI you have to create that
will be used as the basis of the MXP that others will need to install.

For createing a MXI file, check here:
MX
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/d...ile_format.pdf

MX2004:
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/e...ile_format.pdf

Look under MXI tag descriptions and check out the taglibrary related tags.

Good Luck.

Danilo is indeed correct. It's not possible to export tag libraries within
Dreamweaver. However, it should be simple enough to manually copy the
extended libraries to another computer. You could also package the tag
library as an extension.

For more informatio nabout the tag library format, check out the Extending
Dreamweaver MX 2004 live documents here:
http://livedocs.macromedia.com/dream..._2.htm#wp77778

For more information on packaging the tag library as an extension, see
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/d...ile_format.pdf -- specifically
the sections on "taglibrary-changes" and "taglibrary-insert".
