Default Setting Window Size - 07-09-2004 , 01:57 AM

Hi everyone

I know how to set the Window size of a New window using the Behaviours
function (ie Onload, open new window), however I need to know how to set the
size of the window I am currently working in. I can't work it out or find any
tutorials online!

Can anyone help?

You really don't want to do that. Or more correctly, as a user I don't want
you messing with my main browser window. You can find Javascript scripts
online that will do this, but I (and most people around here) strongly
advise against it.

Maybe I should rephrase my question/tell you what I am trying to do.

I have a flash file with thumbnail picks. Each thumbnail is linked to a HTML
doc with the larger jpeg inside. When you click on the thumbnail in flash, it
will load the HTML doc however this window will be full screen and I want the
window to be smaller, ie to be the size of the jpeg. You see it all the time on
websites when you view images, but I can't work out how to do it!

Its not the main browser window I want to mess with just the 'popup' window
that houses the jpg. I realise your stance on this design might not be ideal
but if you do know how to do it, I would appreciate your help.

Ah, now that's a whole other thing! You said originally it wasn't for a new
window.

I'm not completely clear how you're doing this in Flash and combining it
with the pop-up page. It's easy to do this using straight a HTML page --
check out the Open Picture Window Fever behavior
(www.dreamweaverfever.com/grow/) and Just So Picture Window
(www.valleywebdesigns.com/vwd_dw_JSPW.asp). You can easily set these up so
you click on a link and an image pop-up in a new browser window that hugs
the image automatically. Now I'm not sure if you can combine this with what
you're doing or not since you have the Flash thing going on......

Sorry guys I should have been a bit more specific! Thanks so much for your
help! That Fever behaviour is awesome and works great with HTML. It says it
works for Flash I just have to work out how! There are no behaviours in Flash!
Any advice?

I haven't looked, but I suspect they mean it will work to target a Flash
animation just as you would an image, not that it will work from within
Flash. I would imagine you can do something like that from within Flash
using Action Scripting, but I know nothing about it and I'd recommend that
if you need to go that way you check in at a Flash user's group.
