Default setting up 3 css adjacent columns - 11-01-2005 , 11:30 AM

I have done the first two columns, both held in container divs. (#leftcontainer
and #middlecontainer) with a third to be added later.

I can't work how to align the 2nd and third columns ('news') adjacent to the
1st - they keep going below it.

page layout / css file:

Thanks,
Mark

Your leftcontainer and middle container needs to go in a 'wrapper' <div>
.. You also need to give the floated <divs> a width.

Thanks for the reply. What would go in this 'wrapper' div'?

I will have a go at giving the other container divs a width so that the ywork
properly.

As a note: before I got this reply, I managed to get this working (scrappily)
using negative margins - giving the second container a negative margin pushed
it up the page into the correct y position. The problem with this is that it is
messy and it looks an absolute state in dreamweaver mx 2004!
