Default Set preferences for displaying ColdFusion Conditonal regions - 06-15-2004 , 12:49 PM

Need some help here folks...

When creating a template/page in ColdFusion, I like to set each navigation
item in my nav bar to be conditional so that if a visitor is on that page,
the item in the navigation no longer becomes clickable.

The problem is that DWMX displays two sets of links, those which are
clickable and those which are not. By doing this, my page elements wrap to
the next line and really destroy my layout in design view. Of coarse this
has no bearing on what the page looks like in the browser, but it is a bit
hard to work on in DWMX when everything looks like it is all messed up.

Is there some way of setting a preference to have Dreamweaver only display
one of the conditions in my "cfif" and "cfswitch" statements, and not all of
them?

Even if it could display a little icon similar the icon that is displayed
when using expressions in a DW Template, it would be a lot nicer.

Thanks for the help!
Aaron

No, sorry.

At least unless you write a dedicated extension, but that would definitely
be overkill I guess

Really?

I am just begining to use ColdFusion and I can hardly believe that
developers have to put up with their page design looking very distorted on
account of their scripts.

I was able to workaround this when I was using a table based layout, but now
that I am using CSS, it is just a little to disturbing having so many of my
div elements float to the left or right of the element which contains the
conditional statements.

Do you really think it would be overkill to write an extention to display
the first item in a "cfif" or "cfswitch" statement?

Developers very often just work in Code View.
More advanced developers usually write more modular code in ways that make
DW's Design View almost useless anyway...

It all depends on your level of expertise in JavaScript and DW's
extensibility...
For me it would definitely be overkill, but that's just my personal opinion
