Session variables on mobile device connections

Hi I have built an ASP site which uses DW's Login and Authenticate (Restrict
Access to Page) Behaviours, which is all well and good on a Broadband connected
desktop, but my client wants to access secure areas of his site from a PDA and
a laptop, both of which use a Vodafone (UK) account. What seems to be
happening is that he can Log In OK, but the login behaviour specifies a
redirect page which contains the Authentication code, and this is blocking his
access to any of the secure pages. Can anyone tell me why this is happening -
I assume that the session variable-based authentication is failing due to the
nature of the connection on the mobile devices - and what the solution is?

Not sure why that should/would make a difference. I have just completed
a site for a client and I am able to log in and upload files to the
server from my PDA/Phone, the site is ColdFusion not asp but I can't see
that making a difference either to be fair.

I use Orange as my provider, whether that actually matters I don't know
but I wouldn't have thought so. Does your host support WAP? I wouldn't
pretend to be an expert in mobile communications but I do believe your
host has to enable WAP support, your problem may lie there, have you asked?

I take it you are talking about .wml pages?

non-authenticated pages which work fine, with recordsets showing various
dynamic content, it's just those pages with the authentication behaviour on

Hi Dan

Not sure what the problem is, I do have CF pages that run fine on my
PDA/Phone and allow access to protected areas and file uploads from
within them etc.
