Default Secure Synchronization - 11-13-2004 , 02:39 PM

Let's assume that you have a large site and that it's impossible to use DW to
securely transfer files to a particular server. How would you securely
synchronize edits on your local site to the remote site, without using
Dreamweaver?

I use SecureFX from VanDyke Software it has a Quick
Synchronize option. It supports SFTP, FTP over SSH2
and FTP.

Rb, thanks for the response! Over the weekend, I tried FileZilla and WinSCP.
FileZilla wasn't able to connect to my server (which is SSH1 and requires
key-based authentication instead of password). WinSCP was able to connect, and
I got synchronize working. It's a little sluggish, but I haven't tried the
command-line yet, which might be more efficient. Does SecureFX work w/ SSH1
and key based authentication? Travis p.s. Sorry about the HR tags... I can't
figure out how to get the web forum to preserve my white space, and I don't
like posting to the usenet b/c it needs my email, and I get enough spam already.

SecureFX does not work with SSH1. If your host is providing SSH1,
it's time to find a new host. There are security problems with SSH1.

Good Luck,
