Don't do it. Don't use spaces or punctuation (other than "_" and "-" in
file/pathnames) - it can cause problems at the server level.
I would rather expect problems on client-side with some old and broken
browsers.

You don't need the robots.txt file if you want everything to be indexed.
But it makes sense if you want to prevent 404 errors in your logfile.
The same applies to favicons.

Michael Fesser,

Thanks for correcting me. Forgot about the 404 errors about it. They just fill
up the web server log.
But the file is not needed to improve your site getting searched because the
person has to submit the site and then the crawlers take over your job of
accessing every page (assuming every page is linked to someother page that
ultimately goes back to the page that was submitted to the search engine0

people will flame me, but owning a product like webposition 4 can help you in
your creation of pages that are more search engine friendly, and to quickly
find out your ranking, your overall visibility and pages linked to you, etc.

You can read about making search engine friendly, and by using Google you
can find out your ranking, visibility, and pages linked to you.

So no flame, just a warning to people to not waste their money on a program
that claims to help in search engine positioning.

and in my opinion- there are some products out there that will use out-dated
"tricks" that can hurt the site's ranking, and some that will submit the
site to places that are nothing but spambot collectors you'll never get any
site traffic from.
