Scrolling Text Boxes

I'm putting together my first site and would like to add a text area to be used
as a news/updates section. Visually, I would like it to be similar to the
Newsfeed on http://www.ashleywoodartist.com/praxis2/

this is done with div and/or layer tags.

Search for that on the MM site - there are also plenty of Behaviours for
this at the MM site, too.

You could try using this simple technique

I have used images, but you can use text instead.

ah thanks, it works great now. two follow-up questions:

1) how can i a place a hover action on the up and down scrollbar arrows so
that the text will scroll up when the pointer hovers over the up arrow and
scroll text down when over the down arrow?

2) is styling the scrollbar with the "scrollbar-arrow-color:#ffcc99" the best
way to go about doing that? i ask because of previous browser version
compatibility issues.
