Default scrolling text - 07-14-2003 , 08:45 PM

Hello,

I have just started to create a web site www.solidcreations.tk and its going
quite well at the moment.

I know, I know, the site uses frames, so shoot me or chase me down with a
burning cross P

One thing I would like to do is, at the bottom of the homepage I want the
copyright text on one line. I also want to make the table smaller (50%pix)
and have the text scrolling across (left to right), mainly because i think
it will look good.

Can you do this with html, a DWMX plug in or some of that nifty javascript
magic?

thanks in advance

Ruckus

The only reason that I advise against frames is that they are not part
of the w3c strict standards, and they cause no end of problems.

I don't know an html way to do the moving text you want. You could try
using a layer, and moving it along a javascript timeline.
Alternatively, what I would probably do in your position is make a
sort of text ticker out of Flash. And with Flash MX, I can make sure
it is accessible.

I hate to be a bore, but <marquee> is not valid html. Try testing it
on a standards compliant browser like Opera, or Netscape7.

It'll be removed from IE support soon. The marquee tag was an
invention of Microsoft for use with Frontpage. Even newer versions of
Frontpage are advising against it.
