Default Safari/Show -Hide Layer - 07-05-2004 , 12:45 PM

Hi,

I have used 5 show-hide layer in my page. This works great in IE and NS. But
Safari (Mac) hides the first Layer (OnClick) but doesn't show the other one.
Is it a known problem?
Is there a solution for it?

Will be greatful for any help

The page is still not online. Maybe I could send you the source code, but
MM-Server doesn't accept it. And it is a big problem for us, any idea
please?

many thanks

It's likely an error in your code. But it is impossible to tell for sure
unless the page can be viewed.

Ariane/Everyone,

I think there may be a problem with Safari handling certain flavors of
show/hide layers javascipt. Here's an excerpt from a recent post in response
to my request that someone take a look with a Mac running Safari at a
div/layer-based pop-up menu that employs the PVII Auto Layers script to
show/hide submenu layers on mouseover:

"The submenus are correctly aligned in Safari 1.2.2. However, from within
the menu itself, they [pop-up layers] appear only when you mouse *up* to
their triggers.
So to see the submenu for "help us" you have to approach it from
"contact us." If you come down from "news/events" the submenu doesn't
show. All submenus show if you mouse onto their triggers from the right
(outside the menu area.) I'm assuming there are only two submenus, which
is all I see. This odd behavior doesn't happen in IE 5.2 nor NN7."

I'm no javascript guru (that's for sure), but since the behavior described
above appears ONLY to occur in Safari (not in IE, Mozilla, Netscape or
Opera), it may be that there's a script rendering issue in Safari. Just an
observation.

Hi Jim,

All of our AutoLayers demos work perfectly in Safari. It's likely a CSS
or markup issue on your page. There are no incompatibilities and we
thoroughly test our extensions on the Mac platform.
