Running C3 and Ultradev side-by-side on an XP machine

Hi,
I would like to run the good, old Ultradev on my Windows XP machine, with the
very latest patches and such, alongside C3.
I re-installed Ultradev, but nothing happens upon start up. The start-up form
appears and then it just hangs.
I would imagine that Ultradev should still work on an XP machine?
Do you have ideas as to what to do to get Ultradev working?
Have you had this situation/problem before?
What did you do to overcome it?
