Default I Don't Want Skin On my Flash Video - 07-12-2008 , 07:55 AM

Is there any way to select "NONE" as an option for skin when placing a flash
video in DreamweaverCS3? I don't want skin over my flash. I don't want anything
there but my short video/animation with auto play. If it cannot be shut off is
there another option for flash video/animation? :beer;:wine; Salud!

Try this... Add your video with the clear skin. All controls & surrounds should
be clear when you mouse-off the movie.

The only other option I use is to create your own flash movie holder in Flash,
using actionscript. There is a tutorial for doing this on gotoandlearn.com

Siriunson,

That's pretty much what I have going on now. Moving the mouse over it and it
goes away. gotoandlearn.com, where do I begin to find the answer there? Search
for Movie holder? Thanks for your response! Yoda, you are much like.

Easy.

Just click your Flash movie, then in the properties panel youll see a button
that say Parameters. Open that. Type in the Parameter field Wmode. Then in the
Value field type Transparent. Basically your telling DW to not display the
Flash default window and just the actual movie.
Enjoy. :-)

I'm so sorry, . . . I can't find parameters. All it shows in the bar is the
size, constraint, auto play, auto rewind, file, class and off course all the
friggin skins available!!!! lol Could you please be more specific, if you don't
mind? I'm about a month or so new to this, but I'm getting it slowly but
surely. Thanks again, I'm excited to know I have real options!

Parameters does not show as an option in the properties bar for .flv files.
Adding <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> doesn't seem to work either.

At gotoandlearn.com the Flash Video Basics 1 at the bottom of the age should
get you started. Using this method, you can build your own custom graphic-based
video players. (I used it for the video at the bottom of this page -
http://www.thetalentscout.co.uk).
