Default Root-relative links & CSS files - 07-20-2004 , 02:14 PM

Why does DW MX 2004 treat external CSS files as root-relative links by default? This prevents previewing in a browser unless you've set preferences to "Preview Using Temporary File."

There really is not a true default for link paths. Dreamweaver will
start off, the day you install it, wanting to set links to be document
relative. However, once you set a single root relative link in the find
file dialog, Dreamweaver will make all subsequent links you set (or it
sets) root relative until you explicitly set a document relative link.

Thanks. If I understand correctly, setting an explicit document-relative link should change the default back to document-relative. I'll try it.

It'll stay that way until you change it again.

Nicely delivered Al, I usually have a hard time explaining that one to people.
