I have specified valid paths in my site definitions, so what's the issue? |
|
I have many sites that have root relative image paths (src="\images\sample.gif") that I've coded by hand in DW8. I don't use design view that much, buy one of our designers does. The problem is none of the images with root-relative paths will appear in design view. I have specified valid paths in my site definitions, so what's the issue? |

I have many sites that have root relative image paths (src="\images\sample.gif") that I've coded by hand in DW8. There is no such thing as a backslash in a url path. src="/images/sample.gif" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backslash q The backslash's prominence in Microsoft path names might explain why the forward slashes in URLs are occasionally (and erroneously) read out loud as "backslash". It has even led to its erroneous placement in contexts not relating to directories, or computers at all, for that matter. URLs always exclusively contain slashes, sometimes referred to as "forward" slashes in an attempt to clarify the distinction. /q |

I posted a screenshot of my site def to Murray directly. He suggested I delete the HTTP address entry in the site def and that did the trick. Thank you Murray, for your prompt and friendly help. |
