Root folder problems

Dreamweaver can't create of find root folder.

Manage site-create site-test site all work. Remote folder has all data but when I want to "get files"
I get errors.
Root folder does not exist.
Can't create folder.

I exported the intended site of another computer. Brought the site via import to my lap top. Got the
same error message.

I even downloaded all my data off the lap top and did a clean install of OS X. No help there either.

All the data is loaded correctly, I matched it with my G4 tower, and it still can't create the root folder.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have put to may hours into this already and I have done about all
that I can do.

Can you connect to the remote server??

If YES, what do you see in the remote side of the f8 site manager window?

Does this Same Exact remote info work on the laptop?

My guess is you are "landing" into your ftp account in a top level Private
folder you don't have write permission in. Is there a folder name
public_html or www or htmldocs or similar name on the remote site? Is your
site inside of That folder?
