1. Yes it is defined as a 'managed site'.
2. Being new at this I wasn't sure about the 'placeholder'. I have just
inserted the image but still won't appear.
3. I'm trying to insert a PNG and JPEG type. No they are all RGB.
4. Sorry I'm still just working on the site and haven't uploaded the URL.

Look at the code view.

It should look something like this
<img src="your-image.jpg">

Or is the image referencing your local hard drive - like this
<img src="file:///C:/My Documents and settings/Pictures/blah,blah,blah"?

If the latter, you need to save the page first. Give it an appropriate
name. Then insert your pictures. My guess, is that you inserted some but
not all pictures before you had saved and named the document.

Here is the line of code: <img src="images/pencildrawing5_yzerman.png" alt=""
name="sample8" width="400" height="252" id="sample8" /></td>

Just the 'holding box' appears.

I open a new page SAVED the appropriate .html page and also then put a 'title'
in and saved again. Put a pix or two in and saved again. So pixs come in and
no problem others just the 'holding box' appears.

????

Why do you need a holding box??? Remove them and the pics. Insert pictures
again. Now, what do you see?
