It personally pisses me off that people are so uptight about it.
I <3 Right Clicking

Most of the times people are too paranoid about this. The only people I see
who use the Disable Right-Click crap are the ones who have small p.o.s sites
that nobody cares about. Plus. If someone really wanted the image they could
just take a screen shot and crop it in PS. If you're really on crack you could
water mark all your images!

HEY HEY HEY !!!!! Guys Peace...... .love .......coders unite ... free design
etc etc etc

Seriously, guys, the guy just asked how he could disable the right click he
didn?t ask for a debate on driving on the left or right side of the road. I am
a little surprised at the level of closed mindedness of some of the designers/
developers out there with there extreme reactions to suggestions of
......putting background music on their site (re another topic by someone else
on this forum) ...... disabling right click ...... how the hell do you know
their not making a radio site with sound in the background ... or a web
application where you shouldn?t have all ("16") options available to you for
security or restricted information access, or indeed you need to disable the
right click to insert your own dhtml context sensitive MORE user oriented
menu...because of months of user testing and feedback reports !!!! The cheek
of some people. Yes give the answer. and yes give your opinion but be Jasus
leave the high and mighty overreacting to personal pet hates and circumstantial
bad design until you have all the facts. Design is not set in stone it
develops, what was good design 4 years ago can be bad design now and vice
versa. Leave room for people to do something different than you and impart your
wisdom but don?t make it uncomfortable for people to ask questions and
DEFINITLY don?t assume YOU KNOW BEST because I hate to tell you ...... YOU
DONT, you know something the next guy doesn?t and you have a talent the next
person cant have but arrogance is the worst design flaw of all.

The answers have been posted already, so i hope im not the pot (et kettle) by
not giving a solution
Well i don?t know the answer anyway.

Lets exchange Knowledge not enforce our own design morals
(what a self righteous bast....)

The question is always the same and the answer is always the same.

Who cares? Disabling right click is _never_ a good idea and will _never_
work reliable. The _only_ thing it does reliable is to annoy users.
And BTW: security by obscurity doesn't work. If you think you need to
hide something from the user then you have a _real_ big problem.

The context-menu contains basic and important browser functionality,
this is nothing a webauthor has to deal with nor is he able to provide
an appropriate alternative.

Was waiting to see how long it would take for the ball to drop
and whether it would turn into one of 'those' threads!

Well... The *very* start of this thread back in March *was* a serious
request for a no-right-click script:

This recent incarnation was just a not-too-humorous attempt at humor.

I know (and wondered why it came months after the original thread), but
the response wasn't.
