Looks like it was done using some outstanding graphics and Flash. A whole
new ballgame and forum if you have never used it. IT si fun but takes a
while to get the hang of it. This is very advanced for em though.

But for those of us without the Flash player, it obscures most of the
page and makes the site pretty much unusable. It's no problem, though. I
can always go somewhere else that is not so restrictive on their browser
requirements.

It's a problem because you believe that number. It's optimistic at best.
And - are you willing to take the chance of turning a single visitor away?

department. Of course, even of those who do have the player, not all
will have the current version, so you can run into problems there as
well. I'd guess that the number of people who could actually view the
site as intended is probably closer to 90%. That sounds like a lot until
you consider that you're turning away one out of every ten potential
customers.

I know several big companies were for security reasons the flash plugin
is not installed and were you are not allowed to download the plugin.

Because you can't believe that statistic that is thrown out there.
Many corporations are starting to disable all superfluous plugins like flash
over security concerns.
