Use tables for now. After you have a site or two under your belt, you will
be more able to understand what the alternatives are.

Until you learn more about css and how it interacts with your html, then
learn how to build a table layout properly... here's a good tutorial:

You could learn basic css from the links provided by Murray and use that in
conjunction with your tables before moving onto more advanced css.
