Re: MX adds 'mm' and 'mm/stationery' folders. WHY? -

I would like to back up what Larry said so many months ago: following the tutorial produces a set of folders inside one called, "mm". Everytime I try to save my file I created from the template, I get the File Dependency dialogue coming up. Whether I say to copy the dependant files or not, the mm folder and all subfolders is created. I am an expert coder but wanted to try this new incarnation of a wysiwyg editor, so double checked the code to see if there was reference to any files out side of the images folder I created and no, there is not. So why does macromedia create these dependencies when none exist? I found the only way around this nonsense was to copy the html to a new document and overwrite my index.htm document that came from the template.
Doesn't anyone from Macromedia actually follow the tutorials that they write? I would encourage them to do so. THe tutorial in question is the one called, "Creating your first website in Dreamweaver".
I'm afraid I cannot recommend this product to anyone until this problem gets fixed. |
