Diagnosing such problems is very hard without complete information about
your computer and its operating environment. Can you please tell me -

0. What is your version of Dreamweaver? And when you right click on the DW
executable (dreamweaver.exe), then select Properties > Version, what is the
version number you see in the properties panel?
1. What is your OS?
2. What is your AntiVirus?
3. Is your AntiVirus doing realtime protection?
4. What is your Firewall?
5. What other background programs are running?
6. What Dreamweaver extensions do you have installed?
7. Are you *running* DMX from a network shared drive?
8. Where are your 'local' files? Are they on a network shared drive?
9. Have you ever been able to run DMX or is this a recent failure?
10. Does this only seem to happen with certain files/sites?
11. Does recreating the site cache (SITE | Recreate Site Cache) help?
12. Are you using *any* OS-improving utilities like "TweakUI" for example?
13. Are you logging on as an ADMINISTRATOR, or do you have admin
privileges?

Version: DreamWeaver MX 2004
File Version:7.0.1.2181
OS: Windows XP Home Edition
AntiVirus:Nortan AntiVirus
RealTime:No
FireWall:Norton Personal FireWall but not running or installed.
BackGround Programs:Battle.net bot

I was able to run it a while ago , well MX not MX04, and then i did a ystem
recovery and reinstalled and then it happened then too.

It only happens with DreamWeaver. Flash and FireWorks run fine.

I am not tweaking anything on my computer.

I am logged on as Adminitrator.

Disable Norton AV. Try again.

If that fails to solve the problem, then I recommend you contact Macromedia
directly and use one of your one-on-one support incidents.

Bummer. Sorry for the wild goose chase.

Clearly, something is interfering with your ability to run DW. Try
uninstalling it, rebooting your system to SAFE mode, and reinstalling in
SAFE mode. Then try turning off all your Firewall, your AntiVirus, and all
other background processes - see if it starts now.

Turn off everything else that is running, including WinAmp, Firewalls,
Antivirus, Kazaa, whatever....
