I'm using an older Macromedia Studio 8 DW version. I don't really understand what DW actually does as it is not very functional in terms of layout and design. |

I'm using an older Macromedia Studio 8 DW version. I don't really understand what DW actually does as it is not very functional in terms of layout and design. That really depends on how you're using it and what you're expecting it to do for you. I do much of my layout, design and coding in DW CS3 and have done since DW3. Do you use Design View in DW? -- Regards John Waller |

I tried using design view but it keeps tweaking up my code and it's really clunky. Its not really a wysiwyg tool. I've been use Photoshop for page layout and then code over the graphic file but it makes for slower loading pages. I started playing around with Apple's iWeb which is much easier to use but the file management leaves much to be desired. I guess I'll go back to the tedium of hand coding the old fashion way until I figure out DW or find another tool. Thanks, DC |

I'm using Dreamweaver Studio 8 (Macromedia). I can write code in Dreamweaver in Code View but I still have to manually line up tables, graphics, buttons and other elements, the same process I would use in a text editor so what is the point of using DW? |
