Hi Webbley, So if it's streaming then file size isnt an issue? I didn't
realize that. I'm using MP3's for them, what I do is edit them with Audacity
then export MP3. Any info you can send my way on the subject would be great, I
didnt get a chance to research this stuff I had to ge this stuff up quickly for
her. Amelia

Hi Amelia, The easiest thing to do is to make an .m3u file, which is simply a
text file you can create in notepad. All you put on the page is
http://domainname.com/sound/track1.mp3 (where 'sound'=the name of the
directory where you put your mp3's and 'track1.mp3'=the name of your actual
sound file. In other words, create an absolute path to the sound file. Then
save the file as something like 'track1.m3u ' On your webpage, link to the m3u
file. Load everything and test. You can do without the extra meta file, but I
find it works the most reliably on most browsers. For some reason, using an
absolute path was recommended to me long ago, and I've followed that rule ever
since! I'm heading to bed now, but do feel free to email me if you need more
help. I'll check before I leave in the AM. Take care, Webley

Ahhhhhh ok I know what your alking about I just recently found out about 3mu
when I became obsessed with saving a song I found online. It sounds really easy
to do. When I'm in Notepad i just save as-> .3mu right? I'm going to definitely
use this, thanks very much for all the help! Amelia

It's not ".3mu". It's ".m3u".

One other bit of advice, file size still matters, but not so much based
on the length of the audio clip. When you make the mp3's, save them with
as low a bit rate as you can and still have acceptable sound. I'd try to
stay under 64 Kbps. Try it down as low as 16 Kbps if it doesn't distort
too badly.

The higher the bit rate the larger the file. If the file, for a given
audio clip, is too large, users on a slower connection will hear the
music stop and start again as their player runs out of data and has to
wait for more to download.
