Ask your host to disable directory listing.

How do I hide the contents of my folders from the world?

For example, let's say I have a folder called stuff and in that folder is
a page called example.html

root/stuff/example.html

In my browser I can delete the /example.html and see a listing of
everything in the folder called stuff.

I would like to keep the contents of stuff private. Does anyone know how ?
