Mariposa:
The javascript to support that navigation bar is about 35K in size. In
addition you have a huge chunk of dynamic code that is then written to the
page after it has loaded. The whole system is terribly fiddly, inflexible,
and slugish. You might consider replacing it with something more amenable
to easy construction, maintenance and operation.

To see what I mean about both comments above, go here -
http://www.great-web-sights.com/library4d.html
and see how fast it loads. There's only the one menu on the page, and a
textarea above it that shows all the code that must be written to each page
for the menus to work.

I created our homepage navigation bar in Fireworks and exported it into
Dreamweaver. However, this page and the other pages with smaller navigation
|
bars load very slowly. Is this the wrong way to go about doing this? Is
there another way that would make the pages load more quickly?

Thanks.
