Re: DW says that FW nav bar wrong format

I've created a nav bar in Fireworks, exported it as HTML with all the
appropriate boxes checked (i.e., saving image files in subfolder).

on this export screen in Fireworks- click the Options button that's to the
right.

check on the General options that it's set to export as Dreamweaver html,
instead of golive or generic.

also- what's the full filename and file extension of the html file?
can you upload it someplace and give a link to it?

The default was set to Dreamweaver HTML, but tried it again anyway. Still
same problem. As a test, I've called it navtest.htm. What's the reason for
uploading it someplace? Any other thoughts? Appreciate the help.

I just figured out a simple work-around. I follow the same export procedure as
recommended. Then I open the file in a new DW window. Select All. Copy the
table (nav bar). Paste the selection into my DW page. Wait a few seconds, and
voila, it actually worked. Whew. Now why can't Macromedia just say that?

No, I don't believe it's a template. Would that have a different extension than html?
