That's interesting. We even tried it on someone else's machine, and they got the same error. Here were our steps: 1. Page created from a template that had & quot; contained within it. Let's call the page testpage.shtml 2. Closed testpage.shtml. 3. Did a "Find" on "source code" & quot; within folder (folder contains testpage.shtml). 4. Clicked on the result from testpage.shtml. Testpage.shtml opens. 5. Clicked on Split View. 6. Clicked in the code area, highlighted & quot; and deleted & quot;. 7. Replaced & quot; with a ". 8. Clicked in the design area. 9. Error message appeared. That's the step-by-step version. We attempted to change the code directly, rather than using the "Replace" function. Thanks again for all your work! Stevie |

I tried it this morning, and the same thing occurs--but only in pages containing templates. Is that weird, or what? Regular pages (without templates) work fine. Additionally, if I detach the template from the page, the error message doesn't occur. It must have something to do with the code for templates. :-) I submitted it as an issue, though not in as much detail as here. Do you think the programmers will see it? Stevie |

I didn't send it to that site--just to customer service/tech support. I can verify that a cold restart of DW doesn't change anything. I've been working with & nbsp; here, too, and that also seems to be the issue. It must be the encoded characters thing. I'll submit to the site you sent now. Thanks for all your help! Stevie |

Thanks much. I had our accessibility rep check too, and he found that & amp; & lt; & gt; and & quot; were all supported by HTML 2.0, and thus figured they were pretty safe. Thanks for clarifying, though. :-) |
