If you have the ftp access just connect and download the entire site. You do
have the permissions don't you?

Hello,

I recently lost my hard drive to overheating or something. I need to
import
my files from the website back into Dreamweaver so I can put the files on
my
new hard drive. How do I do this, I know it has to be simple? Thanks.

yes, I have access to the site, it's my site. I just never used dreamweaver
before. I believe the orginal site was designed using various applications,
and uploaded using dreamweaver or frontpage. I'm new to dreamweaver mx, don't
even know all the commands yet. I'm and old frontpage hand.

Okay, in Dreamweaver you need to place the ftp info, to do this click on
site > manage site > then select the site you want to edit > click on remote
info then add your ftp access. Once this is done click OK and then connect
to your site, from here you can download your files.

Cheers

Pablo

Define a "SITE" in dreamweaver, to a new empty folder on your HD.
Enter the FTP info for the remote site into this Site Definition.
Open the F8 Site Manager window.
Connect.
Make sure you in the correct directory- use the "Host Directory" line to
move to subfolders like public_html or www if that's where the site files
are.

select the remote files in the remote side of the Site Manager window.
"Get" them.

see the F1 help for info on Defining a Site.
