This approach uses Tables and I want to do a Tableless Design!
So is there any way to do the same thing without using a table?

That approach will work only when the height of the content is fixed.
There's no good way to do it reliably without a table.

Right. I wouldn't want to build a site based on this, and would probably
only use it for a video or graphic element such as a coupon or business
card.
