Hi There
I dunno about a book, I think you need to buy a library
The html you have created is crap, stop what you are doing, take a deep
breath and then wipe the slate clean and start again. Nuke the Flash as
well, you don't need it okay.
Create something simple to start with, something that is clean and won't
blind people, the colours you have used on that page are crap and you need
to start thinking in terms of what looks good and what looks crap. Have
another look at your site and say to yourself "that's crap". Go here and
download this simple example of a clean website
http://www.dellwebsites.com/template4/index.html and here
http://www.dellwebsites.com/template1/index.html they are not the best
looking sites in the world but they are free, they work, they validate and
for a newbie such as yourself they are a good starting block as you can
completely screw them up but it won't matter because you can always go back
and download them again. Once you get to grips with these things then you
will need to learn about css and layout and design with css, but for the
moment just play with these two templates and see what you can come up with.
I see your site has something to do with cd's, well try implementing a nice
logo on the top of the second link and go from there.
Good Luck
Pablo

Thanks. I will be buying a book today!
If I could just ask one more question..
the table is now layed out correctly with exception of the text "This CD
is
available for the price of ?5.95 (+2.95 P&P).<BR
BR>To order call <b>0800 00 000</b> or click <b><u>here</u></b> to order
online from our secure server".
That one is not showing up anywhere in design mode. Could you just point
me
in the right direction on that one?
thanks. |
