"The problem remains. Do you use the server time, or the client time? If the
server, what time zone do you display? What time zone is the user in? If the
client time, how can you possibly know that the time is accurate? What's the
advantage of displaying wrong, or confusing information?"

Obviously, there's no advantage in displaying the wrong time. Maybe we should ask the experts for advice on displaying the right time, or why they would want to bother with time at all - like
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/, http://www.worldtimezone.com/, http://www.worldtimeserver.com/ and many similar sites.

I'm in the U.S., so I use http://nist.time.gov/. You, of course, are free to
put a clock on your site(s), but you'll not convince me that it's useless to
do so.
