Re: Damaged index.HTM

Does Dreamweaver generate the error when opening the page, or does the error occur in the browser when you navigate to the site? What is the error?

Put up link, so we can look at it

if the problem is local and the file works remotely then just download a
copy from the web site using your ftp client.

What about taking a copy of the index page from the server... and then
trying to see what happens.

The site works, but I cannot effect any changes. When make changes to
linked
pages and to the templates adding pages 2004MX no longer updates the
index.
When I try to up the entire site it says the there was an error in opening
the
index.htm thus no changes were made.

That's why I wanted to know if Ican reindex it.

Are you sure that it isn't the Template file that is corrupt and won't
update the pages?

Question, by Putting the entire site does the overwrith the
current remote site with the new PUT? Or should I delet the old remote
site 1st
before putting the clean version?

When you PUT new files they should overwrite the old files. Check your
preferences before you do... in case you have a setting from preventing
this.

Can you please just post a link to the template page? It'll take me 30
seconds to tell you what might be wrong.

that. If that does not work I'll PUT the entire old site up and rebuild
