From March? Been on vacation? 8) lol, no such luck just 90 irons in the fire (ahh the life of the self employed) Please describe the problem again. Please also tell me how you have defined a) your local site, b) your testing server, and c) your remote site. Thanks ok - I'll try: I'm not sure how to check, but under Define Sites I have my local site cked to "refresh local file list automatically" which SOUNDS good ..? I also have cked "Use cache to speed link updates" Not sure what else you want me to look at. Web server info - None My remote site is set to the URL of the site, but I am doing a redesign so nothings ready to be put up there. This is all local. If I open a dw file and go to "preview in browser" it opens a window in IE. No problem. If I open another dw file or even make a change to the orig. one and go to preview in browser I get somehing like this: An error type popup titled "microsoft internet explorer" "Cannot find 'G://whatever folder/TMP38i34834848984.htm' Make sure the path or internet address is correct" and the annoying error sound. So after a few mins I end up with a bunch of open windows and have to click twice each time to close the things. Sorry, I posted this all anew again, I put in a search for my id, and nothing came up so I thought I might not have tried this forum, although I really thought I had. |

Murray! I think I got it, thanks to you having me take another look in the Advanced tab of IE. Even though I've changed some things in there before, apparently I hadn't changed this one and it seems to do the trick! Advanced>Browsing> and I UNCHECKED "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts" and by jove, I think we've got it! Thanks very much for your help! No more annoying warning sound and error messages! YAY batikdruid! |

Yah, well, thanks Murray, but today as I am working, I find that now no new windows will open at all. *sigh If I now have a dreamweaver file open and hit Preview in Browser, it will open a window and show the file on only the first one I preview. If I open subsequent files and hit Preview in Browser, nothing happens. No new window, and doesn't go into the one that is open. Aargh, I don't know which is worse. Can you help me? Again? |

Why are you worried about my system, Murray? It is new since April. I'd be interested in what you think may have happened? THX |
