Murray,
Sorry I'll explain.

I did the below;
1. Move this line - <%@LANGUAGE="VBSCRIPT" CODEPAGE="1252"%> - ABOVE the
doctype.
2. Remove this line - <?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> - it's
unnecessary.

I was then able to make changes to the child documents without getting the
"Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template
or a translator. The change will be discarded"

I then attached a style sheet into the template, which passed validation, &
then when I tried to make changes to the child pages I got the error message
"Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template
or a translator. The change will be discarded"

If you are getting the error message again, then you have munged the code
again.

Tell me this - is this page an ASP/VBScript page?

Can you post a link to the changed template, please?
