In the last 2 weeks, I've had a problem with Dreamweaver 3 times. I'll be working in it like normal, then all of a sudden it will start to become unresponsive. Eventually, the rest of the PC will also become unresponsive, even Task Manager. The only solution is to kill Dreamweaver and loose all my changes, or wait and let it crash on its own. Before this problem occurs, Dreamweaver (version 9.0 Build 3481) usually uses around 300-500MB of my 2GB of ram. Then the CPU usage goes to 50% (one of the two cores goes to 100%), and the RAM usage steadily increases over the course of about 15 minutes, up to around 1.7GB. It hangs there for about 5 minutes before crashing, spinning the hard drive constantly too (maybe using virtual memory). I have not noticed this with any other programs, even Adobe ones in CS3 Web. Only Dreamweaver. I am on an Dell Inspiron Win XP laptop with 2GB ram. I'm using 50GB of my 120GB hard drive. It's Dreamweaver as it came with CS3 Web Premium, updated to . I also run 4 popular anti-virus/malware programs on a regular basis - no issues. I've also set my virtual memory as suggested by other tech notes here on Adobe's site, so that should not be the issue. It seems like a bug in Dreamweaver, like it's looking for something on the computer but can't find it. Anyone know of a solution/patch or has anyone seen this behavior before? |
