Do change your e-mail address to something invalid. Posting with your
real e-mail address in newsgroups is one of the fastest ways to get on
spam lists.

For What It's worth, I find that separate news and mail clients tend to
work better for their intended task.

Depends.

One big thing is that you're not
likely to compose an e-mail commenting on something you'd rather not have
public (Why /did/ the boss wear the green tie with the red-plaid pants,
anyway?) and post it to a newsgroup.

Of course you should know how to use your software. I really like to
have mail and news together in one program. The technical differences
between both are not that big, the structure of messages is quite
similar (header, body, signature ...).

And if I want to reply by e-mail instead of a posting I don't have to
fire up another program, just have to press another hotkey ('r'eply
instead of 'f'ollowup).
