When you put a file (upload) what does the message "Include dependent files"
do?

adds all the other files/images/etc that are attached with the file...

Say you have a web page, which is essentially made up of html, but in that
page, you reference include files, images, pdfs, etc... You can choose to
have those referenced file or dependant files upload as well (well maybe not
the include files - can't remember).

After an initial upload, I usually choose to ignore the alert.

I have it turned off and upload my files independently, I have found before
that is was a bit buggy as, it would seem to go on for ever and stall
dreamweaver. but maybe that was just my pc.

When the window pops up asking if you want to include dependant files, click
the checkbox that indicates you never want to see that window again.

*and* click "No".

If you check that box and click "Yes", DW will *always* upload dependent
files!

Hello,
I just got an upgrade to MX4 and unfortunately messed up when FTPing my first
file onto the remote server. I said "yes" to including the dependent files and
then told it not to show me the dialog box again. D'ooooohhhh. How do I get
it to stop ftping the dependent files?

thanks

had the same problem but i emailed MM support and here's what they told me to
do...

Please do the following:
-click Edit > Preferences.
-select the 'Site' category on the left side -in the 'Dependent files' section
on the right side, check the 'Prompt on put/check in' option.

Try uploading a file and Dreamweaver should now prompt you if you want to
include dependent files.

you should now get that pop up box when you upload something to the server
