This sounds like a job for SSI (Server Side Include). Check out the Help
section for details.

If you use a Word .doc it's going to open in the browser as a Word .doc --
if they have Word installed. I hate when that happens and I don't think it's
what you want. Check out the SSI and see if that will do it. You can make a
text file and make it your include on the page, so whenever you want to
change it you just change the include page, not the HTML page.

It's really messy. I think you can use something like index server on IIS or
possible asp.net to read through the word doc to pull out the text. But
figuring out the formatting/structure would be a nightmare. Perhaps with
Office's newest version that supposedly is XML based, you might be able to
pull the file in as an XML file and mainpulate it that way.

SSI won't work for word documents. Only text files.
