Hi there-- We are having problems when multiple people (not at the same time) try to edit a library item and then not having it update. The only person who seems to be able to update it is the person who created it. Now, we have had folks at other sites download the .lbi and update it just fine. Any suggestions? |

Hi Murray, I think I may have not explained myself very well. We are running some library items on a site the we built. I put the majority of the site together, but we have other people in the shop making revisions as well as myself. When they make a revision to one of the library items, they are not prompted by Dreamweaver to update the files that contain that particular library item. When they go in to try to update the pages manually via Modify>Library>Update Pages, they are getting errors that the files cannot be updated. I added in my post that one of our clients have been able to update library items when they have pulled them off of the server. I was just wondering if there is a permissions issue going on internally or something that possibly only allows the person that created the library item to actually make updates. This has happened on a few occasions and it is very frustrating. |

Murray, I'm sorry this is so confusing! Actually, I figured it out. It was how the other designers had their site files set up... Thanks for taking time to respond, though. |

Hi Rosie, Can you explain how you resolved this problem? I'm having a similar issue where 2 users are sharing a remote site, and each have a copy on our local C drives that's the local site. We have updated library items and checked them into the remote site. When they are opened in dreamweaver we see the updates but when we drag the library items into our pages, they do not show the updates we have made. It's almost like there is an extra library item flying around in space, because we can't find it on either of our drives or on our remote site. Perhaps a caching issue? Can you please help. regards, Sara |
