Problems from DW MX 2004 to DW 8

I have upgraded from MX 2004 to 8. Now, when I open most of my sites in DW8,
it is not pulling the page links properly. I have to manually remove the
leading '/' in the image or stylesheet reference. When pages are previewed
everything shows perfectly. I must have some option selected incorrectly, but
I cannot find anything. Someone please help, this is driving me nuts and
wasting a huge amount of my time.

check the document type ... in mx 2004 its was html 4.01 (by default)
and in version 8 it's xhtml ... by the way check you pages also in a
mozilla based browser.

DW8 allows you to specify how to make links for each site: root or document
relative. This would be found in the Site definition for the local site.
How is yours set?
