Default Problem with Pop-Up Menu and Flash - 09-12-2005 , 05:17 PM

Hi I'm applying the pop-up menu behavior to my horizontal nav. bar on my
company's site, but when I mouse over it, the pop-up menu is getting hidden
behind the flash object that is right below it. How do I get the pop-up menu
to show infront of the flash? If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks

~emily

If it's DW's pop-up menu, avoid it. It's bad.

Instead, consider:

http://www.projectseven.com

or

http://www.udm4.com

or

not using pop-up menus.

Yep. That's normal. Your best solution is to move the flash file.
Alternatively, you can google 'flash wmode' for some fixes that work in some
of the newer browsers.

All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so to speak,
including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and Active X controls.
This means that they do poke through layers. There is not a good
cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can use the Flash
wmode parameter. It doesn't work in all browsers (NN4) but it's implemented
in the latest netscapes:
