Default Problem with layers - 10-31-2005 , 03:29 PM

I am having a problem with layers. I have multiple layers in my webpage that I
am working on and I am having a problem with overlapping. I have a navigation
menu on the left side of my page and when the menu expands it gets hidden by
another layer on the page. Is there a way I can bring a layer tot he front or
send one to the back? Thanks...

This is the price you pay for the 'convenience' of layers. Building a page
(or a site) with layers (as an exclusive methodology) is a dangerous thing
to do.

That's what z-index is all about, but I fear writing the javascript for this
would overload your page and your mind at this point.

Why are you using layers?

Well that sucks. This is my first website and I am having a little trouble with
the page that I am creating. Is there a way I can fix this without causing too
much chaos? Thanks...

No. But you can start again, and just use a table to hold your body
content.

Can someone go to my site and tell me how to get my navigation on the left side
in the blue area? I tried to put the menu in a table but it didn't work. Here
is the link...

Have you looked at that page in Firefox? It's completely munged.

I would follow Murray's advice and start over again with a simple table
layout.
