Default Problem inserting Rollover Images - 11-16-2004 , 08:48 AM

Hi - I downloaded a template for Dreamweaver from Macromedia's website and I'm
trying to change the rollover images. I have created new ones and when I try
to insert the rollover image I'm told that "Making this change would require
changing code that is locked by a template or a translator. The change will be
discarded".

I managed to edit the index.htm page but subsequent pages throw up this error.
Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to get round it please?

Show me the template page and tell me what you are trying to change, please.

Hi, thanks for the reply!
I could send the ZIP containing the pages & images if you like? Where can I put it?

I'd much rather you upload the file somewhere and post a link to it. Can
you do that?

Sure I can upload to my site when I get home tonight (in about 4 hours from
time of this post). I'll upload all the files normally and also include a ZIP
so you can grab the whole lot in one go.

wait ...i can help ...you have to go and select to edit your template which
then will unlock the template from the html file ....then when you edit the
template to how you want it, save as template and you can open it up in a new
workspace

I won't grab anything other than to browse to and look at the pages, and
their underlying code.

Thanks. (Bear in mind that I've not idea what I'm taling about ) but I'm
not sure if you'll be able to see the problem with the files themselves, I
think it's Dreamweaver that won't allow me to put the rollover image in...

Um... I have no idea about working with Templates, that's why I downloaded
some pre-made stuff from Macromedia's website (they may have been on the
Dreamweaver CD too). All I want to do is insert a rollover image, I've managed
to do it to the index file but it won't let me do the subsequent files...
strange.

Anyway, I'll up them tonight.

Dave

Dave:

Please post back when you get them uploaded. Everything will be revealed by
looking at the code.
