Default Printable Page - 11-04-2004 , 04:05 PM

I want to set up a button that will let the person just printout the info in
the text area of the page and not all the buttons, menus and the header. I have
heard people talk about using CSS, but an not familiar with CSS. Is there any
other way to do this. Thanks Glenn

Do you have access to XSSI scripting on your server?
If you have all the buttons menu text etc, in SSI pages then it's extremely easy if you also have XSSI.

The pages are done in ASP. I have never worked with SSI before.
Thanks

Google 'print css'. That's your easy answer.

Otherwise, make a new ASP template called 'printfriendly' and have your link
go to that page.

Thanks Darrel It sounds like CSS is the way to go. Do you know of a good place
that explains CSS and Dreamweaver. All the places I have been going takes into
consideration you already know CSS. I have no idea about CSS, only what it
stands for. Thanks Glenn

Google knows a lot:
http://www.google.com/search?q=print+css

And I'd suggest you not actually use DW's CSS tools...they're an
overcomplicated layer in between you and the CSS. CSS isn't too hard to get
the hang of, and you'll be much more productive editing the actual style
sheet directly than trying to figure out DW's interface.

That's very true. I gave up on using DW's convoluted interface for CSS and
edit the CSS files by hand. I've definitely learned a lot more that way too.
