Default Pricing??? - 08-03-2004 , 12:51 PM

Hi... I am creating a web site. It is just a basic web site. I was curious
about the pricing. I charged them $100.00 per page ( for the main pages ).
Then in those pages are links for other pages - I charged them $15.00 per "link
page" There are about 90 of this "link pages". If I charge them a flat rate of
$2,000.00 is that too much?

Sounds to me as though you are vitually giving your services away at
that price.

When you say 'link pages' what sort of work is involved?

Do you mean the 'link pages' are pages within your site, that you have
to create, and are linked to the 'main pages' or do you mean they are
links to external pages, outside your site.

What other work is involved, uploading and testing all the pages? You
dont say how many 'main pages'

$2000 doesnt sound like a very representative price to me. Sounds way
too low on the information you have provided so far.

As a typical Englishman, Osgood's only interest is quality. I, on the
other hand, is Swedish and knows the value of *quality*.

Your site might look like dog vomit. It may have a markup that'll make
it fall apart in any browser but IE6 on Win. No one can offer a fair
estimate of a decent price based on your description.

OTH, we are not encouraged to discuss our billing here at all. I like
that restriction.

Charge what you think it's worth.

Aw shucks. I was pondering the difference between "quality" and
"*quality*" Thought I had it there for a second....

You charge what you need to charge to make a living doing what you are
doing.

I will say that charging 'per page' is the absolute wrong way to go about
it. Charge per-project or hourly.
